On May 30-31, Kyiv hosted a large-scale agricultural conference Grain Ukraine. Container Terminal Mostyska (hereinafter referred to as CTM) participated in the event and has become the general partner of the conference.
The Conference was attended by agricultural companies CEOs, logistics market experts, government and bank representatives, who discussed challenges, new trends and growth strategies. The event consisted of panel discussions, presentations and exhibition stands.
The CEO of CTM, Dmytro Kobzar, spoke at the panel discussion named ‘Export Revolution: Creating an Alternative to the Sea on Ukraine’s Western Border’. He shared his experience and presented the Terminal’s new services.
‘The Terminal daily tranships and ships grain and oil to consumers in the EU countries by rail and tank wagons. We are also developing new services, such as counter-rail transportation and grain stuffing into sea containers of international container lines. These containers are then transferred by train to EU ports for shipment by the big water. This is how soybeans and meals are delivered to India, Indonesia, etc.’ – Dmytro Kobzar says. ‘We realise that the logistics industry is constantly evolving, so we are developing new services and moving towards Europe.’
The team of CTM experts discussed logistics challenges and offered solutions to meet business needs. Among the main issues discussed was whether cargo would remain at the western crossings or return to the ports. Dmytro Kobzar expressed the opinion that the development of both areas will take place in parallel.
‘We need steady and predictable cooperation between Ukrainian and European carriers. This can become an effective tool to increase exports of Ukrainian products to the European market’ – Dmytro Kobzar added. Container Terminal Mostyska keeps implementing new logistics solutions aimed at expanding export/import opportunities and strengthening Ukraine’s position on the international markets.
